Imagine the thrill of Ziplining in one of the most beautiful places in the world! Get up-close with Mt. Wai’ale’ale, deemed one of the wettest spots in the world and the second highest point on the island of Kauaʻi. Mt. Wai’ale’ale, with many spectacular waterfalls, is your backdrop as you fly through the air, down a stunning mountainside and over a lush tropical rainforest. With exclusive access to over 17,000 acres of former plantation lands, we offer you a truly unique zipline experience!
Your adventure begins with a fun, informative, scenic ride in our four-wheel drive vehicle. Along the way, your certified guide shares interesting information on island history, culture, flora, and fauna. When you arrive at the first zipline, you receive a thorough briefing, preparing you to soar over tropical forests, streams, and jungles rich with magnificent scenery! Zoom down the mountainside, sailing along on a series of seven ziplines, as you make your way to the valley floor below.
End your zip with a refreshing mountain swim and a delicious lunch under a quiet bamboo grove. Relax, bask in the sun, and soak in the beauty that surrounds you. Take one last dip in our cool mountain swimming hole before heading back to home base! This is truly an incredible journey that leaves you with vacation memories to last a lifetime.

FAQ
You must be 12 years old or older to participate in the zipline adventure.
The weight range for the zipline is between 100-250 lbs. We practice strict adherence to the weight limit for obvious safety reasons. We apologize if we cannot accommodate everyone, but safety is first and foremost!
Zipline participants do not have to be “super athletes”, but should be in good physical condition. Participants should have good knees, hips, and backs (no recent back, hip, or knee surgery), no serious medical conditions, and no pregnancies (this is in place due to the placement of the harness). Physical requirements of the tour include hiking, climbing up an 8 rung ladder, landing on hard ground, and zipping high above the ground.
Kauai Backcountry Adventures has a total of 7 different lines that traverse a mountainside down into a valley. Your final landing is next to a beautiful stream called Wai’ahi, where you will enjoy a swim and a picnic lunch.

Our Mission
The mission of Kauaʻi Backcountry Adventures is to provide eco-tourism activities that are accessible to a broad range of people. Our zipline and tubing tours have a minimal environmental impact and contribute to the preservation of Kauaʻi’s history and culture. We have helped restore sections of the old plantation irrigation system, which are now used for the Mountain Tubing Adventure.
We are pleased to be able to set a standard for balancing recreational activities and preservation of our amazing resources here on Kauaʻi. We have opened up spectacular lands never before available to the public. Our exclusive access ensures careful stewardship of the land, total privacy, and a genuinely unique experience.
